Don’t you just love this ‘Boy’ Eugene Wamalwa?

Not very long ago, our good minister for Constitutional Affairs, Eugene Wamalwa was sharing meals and drinks with one Jimmy Kibaki of Simama- Kenya.

I am yet to know what happened to Jimmy. Please don't ask me. I also have no idea and i wish not to Google.

In the meantime, let’s proceed.
See, them days, Eugene and Jimmy were very close, in fact, everyone thought except me that Jimmy was preparing himself for an elective post.

What with well planned campaigns across the country, highly mobilized resources and our ever speculative media? -One couldn’t help but think, well, is Jimmy vying for Othaya Seat? (I have chosen not to ask about Simama- Kenya as we all know this was a useless - agenda less- visionless -resource- wasting- project).

Anyway, after sometime, the Simama Kenya campaign just fizzled out and so did the relationship between Jimmy and Eugene.

After Eugene’s ‘estranged’ relationship with Jimmy, along came former Mungiki leader now nationalist Maina Njenga- (add James to the two names).

Again, the two shared tea, few campaign trails that said nothing much and political platforms and then Eugene was all alone.

Maina had disappeared or let’s say Eugene got bored and moved on. Whichever angle you look at it, Eugene found himself alone- yet again.

Immediately after that, Eugene found himself in the company of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto whom they went ahead and formed the G7. A weapon like we now know was created to politically destroy one Raila Odinga.

The relationship lasted longer then his previous relationships until Musalia Mudavadi also known as Double M, decided to dump ODM Party to join some party called UDF where he declared himself the presidential flag bearer.

After this development, Eugene started feeling a little jittery and insecure with all this arrangement of Double MM being a free agent.

He would soon be seen walking with different people saying different things. Things he didn’t believe in and totally paradoxical to the things believed- in- during the good old days.

Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto nevertheless, were not losing any sleep about Eugene’s insecurities.

Just when you think things would ease up, Eugene’s two brothers- (politically speaking- left him.

The two MPs Soita Shitanda and his counterpart Boni Khalwale whom he had been enjoying their lovely/lonely company left him in preference to their other brother- Double M.

With all these on and off relationships of Eugene, one stops to think for a moment whether it’s Eugene who is such a bad company or it’s him that attracts bad company.

Nonetheless, we still love him. After all, he is our Constitutional Affairs Minister.

A True Sense of Collective Responsibility

Every electioneering year, Kenyans seem to lose their heads. What with politicians cris-crossing the country with their useless campaigns, the media trialling them their like loyal dogs and empty political manifestos accompanied with hollow campaign promises.

However, the sudden death of the two ministerial officials, brought something different among Kenyans.

Something new, not so new but refreshing, something that if we kept along, we would be very far as a nation. Collective responsibility.

In the last two weeks, calm have reined this great nation. There has been no politics, no back stabs, no irrelevant analysis of any kind, no name calling or boring campaigns but peace, love and unity.

The president, his PM and the VP have shared tables several times in the last two weeks so has been the politicians from different parties. Talking passionately even if they are lying like we all know they were.

I don't get it therefore why we at times behave like we do! One is tempted to think. Maybe we need such situations more often. Just to get us back to our senses- whenever we are losing it- like we had started.

This sense of collective responsibility made me proud of ourselves. If only we used the same approach in solving all our problems like settling internally displaced people, poverty, corruption, joblessness, youth unemployment, misuse of state resources, tribalism and mega-scandals among others, then we would be very far as a nation.

Nonetheless, the unity demonstrated and togetherness was such a humbling experience. Wish it would last forever.

Why do people get married for Love? It makes no sense!

One of the biggest reasons people get married is because they are in love. On the flip side, one of the most common reasons why people divorce is because they have fallen out of love.

It beats me therefore, why we marry for love.
Why can't people just get married for some other reasons-like companionship or to keep a friendship we wouldn't wish not to lose?

The danger of getting married for love, like i have noticed is that when you love someone, there is a lot of expectation. The moment one fails to meet some of those expectations, then the journey of what we later call... falling out of love begins, then a call to the divorce lawyer, sooner, the realtor and then we are done.
